Scroll DownJudging CriteriaScores are based on three judges, with a maximum of 100 points per judge.Once your name or routine is announced you're on and being judged.Judges will be focusing on:A. Entrances, exits & waiting on sidelines, before and during your performance. You are on until you completely leave the dance floor, once your performance has finished.B. Clean routines that contain difficulty, proper technique, timing and flow, combined with enthusiasm, energy, & enjoyment. Judges would like to see that the dancers are being challenged and stretched by the choreography.C. General appearance, costuming, make up, tights, shoes, music and dance style/moves that are age appropriate. Remember, this is a family oriented event, keep in mind while creating.Ordinal Scoring1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies are awarded.If there is only one entry in a Level 1 category, a score of 270 must be achieved in order to receive a first place.If there is only one entry in a Level 2 category, a score of 280 must be achieved in order to receive the 1st place.If there is only one entry in a level 3 category, a score of 290 must be achieved in order to receive the 1st place.Adjudicated ScoringPlatinum (295-300)Solid Gold (284-294.9)High Gold (270-283.9)Gold (259-269.9)Silver (258.9 & Below)High ScoresHigh scores are given out to both Junior and Senior categories for solos, duets/trios and group/lines/productions in each of the Levels 1, 2 and 3.Recreational, Parent Routines, Student/Teacher and Teacher Routines are not eligible for any high score awards or the overall high score of the event.Level 1 and Adults are not eligible for the overall high score of the event.There must be a minimum of 5 eligible routines in each high score category to award a regional high score.There must be a minimum of 10 eligible routines in each high score category to award a finals high score.Levels of AbilityRecreational / Pre-Competitive Students that are curious about competition that have never competed before. This is an opportunity for these students to be on the competition floor without the added pressure. Students are judged in a liberal fashion to encourage self-confidence.(All ages can compete in this level. Mini Dancers ages 4 and under must compete in this level)Level 1- BeginnerCompetitors can be new or have some competition experience and are still working on their basic technique and performance level skills. Competitors dance 1 to 3 total hours per week.Level 2 - Intermediate/AdvancedThese competitors have experience in competition and have achieved a sound foundation in technique and performance skills. Competitors dance 3 or more total hours per week.Level 3 - Semi Professional Technique - Superb. Being proficient enough in your performance skills to be hired for a professional part. (Example: Being hired in a Broadway Musical)A competitor must be at least 15 years or older to participate in this level.Do not enter this level just because you are 15 years or older.Students & Teachers - A routine which consists of any combination of students and teachers.Teacher(s) - A routine in which all performers are teachers.
